The Grand Duke
The Grand Duke serves as the nation’s figurehead monarch, embodying the continuity and identity of the Duchy. The role is ceremonial, with the Grand Duke separate to party politics. The current Grand Duke, Grand Duke Simon the First, is a cat. It is believed that Scheinhafen is the first and only nation to have a cat as it’s Monarch.

Parliament

Elections
General elections are held every two years, with all seats in Parliament contested. Any citizen may stand for election or cast a vote, and votes can be cast remotely if citizens are not able to vote in person. The election system runs on a First Past the Post system due to the current voting pool, if citizenship grows there are powers to implement proportional representation for elections.

The next election is set for the 31st August 2026.
